Animated Seasonal Templates
Challenge
To create memorable and eye-catching seasonally-themed marketing templates to be used across social media and email channels by the users of a digital marketing platform.
Solution
These seasonal templates each feature an email campaign and two coordinating social media graphics which leverage custom illustration and animation to capture the attention of distracted audiences.
4th of July
I wanted to create a template that felt distinctly American, fun, and patriotic in an inclusive way. I chose to evoke cookouts, ballgames, friends and road trips - all of the best things about Independence Day - in a playful illustration with subtle animations to catch the eye.
The illustrations were created in Illustrator and Photoshop, and the animation was executed in After Effects.
Halloween
I wanted this Halloween template to strike a balance between playful and spooky as a contrast to the sweets-and-treats focused imagery I'd been seeing. I put together a fortune-telling scene, complete with flickering candles, a spirit board, and a planchette.
The scene is a combination of custom illustrations executed in Illustrator (the spirit board and planchette), stock patterns (the tablecloth), and items clipped from stock photos (the candles and rune stones). The animation was executed in After Effects.
Holiday Greeting
For this winter holiday template, I wanted to evoke tradition, coziness, and the idea of traveling to be home with loved ones.
Paper, foil textures, and close drop shadows call to mind a traditional cut-paper holiday card.
The illustrations (paper components) were created in Photoshop. Animations were executed in After Effects.
Back to School
For my back to school template, I started with a stock rendering of a classroom with a chalkboard.
I superimposed a headline "Catch these Back to School Savings" in an ornate script over the chalkboard. I finished the images in After Effects, where I created some three-dimensional paper airplanes and animated them flying around the classroom.
